Maybe I’m a bit subjective since I’m a morning person, but this tour was a total win for me. When visiting a city as unique as Istanbul, with its unique sea strait, it would be foolish to miss the opportunity not to take a boat trip. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. We saw all the key landmarks visible from the water, and passing under the Bosphorus Bridge felt truly special. The organization was smooth. We had our special moment in peace at an hour-long break near Beylerbeyi Palace and took soooo many funny and sensational photos with the Bosphorus bridge in the background.
We had an amazing time on the morning Bosphorus cruise. Leaving early helped us avoid the crowds. Our guide explained all the time and threw in a lot of interesting facts - I didn't know that Dolmabahce Palace is home to the world's largest crystal chandelier. Anyway, after the cruise, we had an appointment for the palace anyway, so the first view from the water was the perfect introduction. The morning atmosphere and the organized pick-up from the hotel suited us very well. We recommend this tour as it is a great way to explore the Bosphorus and understand its importance.

MEET THE BOSPHORUS - A UNIQUE MEETING POINT OF TWO CONTINENTS
Everyone knows that Istanbul is a city spanning two continents, but experiencing it in person is entirely different. Standing at the point where Europe and Asia meet leaves a lasting impression on everyone. On this Morning Bosphorus Cruise, you'll dive into the history of the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires, where the Bosphorus played a key role in trade and defense. Throughout your journey, an expert guide will share intriguing facts about the Bosphorus, which remains one of the world’s busiest waterways, linking the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara. Despite the traffic, the Bosphorus is wide, and you won’t feel crowded. Plus, you might even spot dolphins, as several species live in these waters and are often seen by lucky visitors!
WHY A CRUISE? BECAUSE THE BOSPHORUS MAKES IT UNIQUE!
When you're near such a unique geographic attraction, it’s only right to experience it properly. Cruising the Bosphorus by boat is a must! The waters of the Bosphorus are an essential part of life in Istanbul, and on this cruise, you'll understand why so many iconic buildings were constructed along its shores. Take, for instance, Sultan Abdülaziz, who had a deep love for the sea. He built Beylerbeyi Palace right on the Bosphorus. The palace features nautical-themed rooms and even has a rare indoor pool in its reception hall—an unusual luxury in Istanbul. This cruise will take you along the Bosphorus toward its northern section, passing by the Rumeli and Anadolu Fortresses, which played a key role in defending and controlling the strait. Living near the Bosphorus has always been a symbol of power and prestige. Once you experience it from the boat, you'll understand why!
WHAT A WONDERFUL MORNING IT WILL BE!
While sipping a cup of hot Turkish tea or strong coffee on the deck, you’ll feel the city awaken around you. Though the morning Bosphorus cruise offers a peaceful experience, the vibrant energy of Istanbul is ever-present. Along the way, you’ll encounter two iconic landmarks: the Bosphorus Bridge and the Maiden’s Tower, each with its own unique story. The Bosphorus Bridge, stretching 1,560 meters (5,118 ft), is the first in the world to connect two continents. As for the Maiden’s Tower, discover the legend of the emperor’s daughter and her fateful prophecy as you sail past this historic gem.

Interesting facts
“BOSPHORUS” MEANS "COW'S CROSSING"?
According to Greek mythology, Zeus had an affair with a mortal woman named Io. To keep her safe from his jealous wife Hera, Zeus turned Io into a white cow. But Hera wasn't fooled and sent a gadfly to chase Io all over the earth. During her escape, Io swam across a narrow waterway that connects the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara. This place is now called the Bosphorus, which means "Cow's Crossing", named after Io. The name and story of the strait come from Io's adventure as a cow.
SWIMMING IN THE BOSPHORUS ISN’T ALLOWED
Did you know that swimming in the Bosphorus is prohibited? Powerful currents pass through the strait. This is why many footpaths around the Bosphorus are fenced off so pedestrians cannot fall into the sea. However, once a year, some of the bravest swimmers in the world gather for a transcontinental swim across the Bosphorus. They swim from Asia to Europe, covering about 6.5 kilometers. Fortunately, there are no sharks!
