An amazing day at the Black Sea!

This Black Sea Tour was our day trip while in Istanbul, and so much fun! Swimming off the boat is something I’ll never forget…the water was so clear! Just in general, it was so relaxing to get away from all the Istanbul business. Especially in the village - it felt like a different world compared to Istanbul!

Gorgeous sights and delicious food

There’s nothing quite like passing under the Bosphorus Bridge…it’s just so huge! I felt like an ant - but in a good, awed way. In general I just really loved the architecture we saw, stuff like Ortaköy Mosque, Bebek, and similar. Also, the food was delicious! So good I even asked the guide for the kısır recipe.

Bosphorus and Black Sea Cruise

SEE ISTANBUL'S ICONIC LANDMARKS

Sail the Bosphorus Strait into the Black Sea! As you cruise, you’ll see famous attractions like the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, which connects the European and Asian sides of Istanbul. You’ll also spot perhaps the most iconic sight in Istanbul: the 19th-century Ortaköy Mosque located beneath the Bosphorus Bridge. End at the Golden Horn - the estuary connecting the Sea of Marmara with the Bosphorus Strait.

RELAX, SWIM, AND EAT A 2-COURSE MEAL

As you sail over the waters, you can stop and swim in the summer! Dive into the crystal-clear water and let its refreshing, calm, and gentle currents relax you under the Turkish sun. The Bosphorus and Black Sea Cruise also includes a delicious 2-course lunch full of Turkish classics. Enjoy traditional meze, mercimek köftesi (lentil patties) and grilled chicken!

DISCOVER A PICTURESQUE FISHING VILLAGE: ANADOLU KAVAĞI

Your Black Sea tour stops at Anadolu Kavağı - a coastal town at the mouth of the Black Sea with a strong fishing tradition. However, its name reveals strategic importance. Anadolu is the Turkish word for Anatolia, and kavak means control post, suggesting the village’s geographical significance. Explore the town, eat delicious fish, and visit the nearby Yoros Castle, a ruin dating back to Byzantine times.

Do you know how the Bosphorus and Black Sea formed?

According to the most popular theory, in 5600 BC the Sea of Marmara’s sea level began rising dramatically. Water spilled over to the Black Sea, which was then a low-lying body of freshwater. The huge amounts of water would have caused a flood, and the event is actually a possible source for the story of Noah’s flood!
